FOR THE SUMMER SOLSTICE 2025

Theatrum Phonosophicum, in cooperation with the Fondazione Morra (Naples), presents the second edition of the PHONOSOPHIA Festival, dedicated to the “Knowledge through the Sound”.
With a cosmopolitan élan, the festival intends to celebrate the summer solstice with three days dedicated to the knowledge through the sound and to “total listening”, creating synaesthetic experiential spaces in which ancient traditional knowledge is combined with experimental practices (this year: from acoustic ecology to acousmatic art, from Kashmiri tantrism to 20th century Armenian masters).
The PHONOSOPHIA Festival will present different types of events: lecture-performances, listening rituals, install’Actions, poetical-philosophical readings, “cinema for the ears” and workshops.

SATURDAY, 21st JUNE
The Light of the Theatre, the Light of the Sound
10:00: “Tantric Sound”: Giacinto Scelsi, Jean-Claude Eloy and Hermann Nitsch (Leopoldo Siano)
18:00: “Theatre of Light”: Tantra and Revolution for a Sacred Theatre Today
20:00 “Into India”: Concert by Renata Frana (dilruba)
SATURDAY, 28th JUNE
Roots in Heaven and in Earth
10:00: Workshop on “deep listening” and overtone chanting (with Clara Tourres and Leopoldo Siano)
19:00: “Komitas & Gurdjieff” (Ur-Melos): Sonic install’Action for piano, hurdy-gurdy, viola and recorded sounds (with Carla Orbinati, Margherita Cervo and Shushan Hyusnunts)

FESTA DELLA CONOSCENZA ATTRAVERSO IL SUONO PER IL SOLSTIZIO D’ESTATE 2025
Il theatrum phonosophicum – in cooperazione con la Fondazione Morra (Napoli) – presenta la seconda edizione del Festival PHONOSOPHIA, dedicato alla “Conoscenza attraverso il Suono”. Con respiro cosmopolita il Festival PHONOSOPHIA intende celebrare il solstizio d’estate con tre giornate dedicate alla conoscenza attraverso il suono e all’“ascolto totale”, creando spazi esperienziali sinestetici in cui antichi saperi tradizionali vanno a coniugarsi con pratiche sperimentali (in questa edizione: dall’ecologia acustica all’arte acusmatica, dal tantrismo kashmiro a maestri armeni del Novecento).
Il Festival PHONOSOPHIA prevede eventi di diverso tipo: lecture-performance, azioni sonore, rituali di ascolto, install’Azioni, letture poetico-filosofiche, “cinema per le orecchie” e workshops.

ore 18: “Teatro della luce”: Tantra e rivoluzione. Per un teatro sacro oggi… (Vins Vassallo)
ore 20: “Into India”: concerto di Renata Frana (dilruba)
SABATO 28 GIUGNO
Radici in cielo e in terra
ore 10-13: Workshop di “deep listening” e canto armonico (con Clara Tourres e Leopoldo Siano)
ore 19: “Komitas & Gurdjieff” (Ur-Melos): install’Azione sonora per pianoforte, ghironda, viola e suoni registrati
