A meditation on Peace and War through the Sound (“cinema for the ears”).
On November 19th at the “Ground Floor” of The State Philharmonia of Armenia, the series of multisensorial events “Theatrum Phonosophicum” will start. The series is launched with a tribute to the French composer Jean-Claude Eloy. A guided listening experience of the parts of his electro-acoustical fresco “Shânti”, composed between 1972 and 1973 at the Electronic Studio of the WDR (Cologne).
In Sanskrit “shânti“ means “peace“. However, Eloyʼs “Shânti”is not a “pacifistic“ work. Paradoxically, despite the title, it is also a work about war as a cosmic principle.
The event is intended to be an opportunity to meditate together on the archetypes of Peace and War: through Sound.
